For any live animal sold for $500 or greater, HD Reptiles agrees, upon voluntary forfeiture by the purchaser, to cover the cost of return shipping, provided all conditions of this policy are met. This program is a welfare-based return provision only and does not constitute a refund, store credit, exchange, consignment, or repurchase agreement.

Returned animals must be in good overall health at the time of shipment and upon arrival. The animal must show no signs of respiratory infection, neurological issues, dehydration, starvation, or systemic illness. It must be free of visible mites, ticks, scale rot, wounds, or untreated medical conditions. The animal must be established and feeding appropriately for its age and species. It must be in a condition suitable for quarantine and eventual resale. HD Reptiles retains sole discretion in determining whether these standards are met.

No animal may be returned without prior written authorization from HD Reptiles. The purchaser must notify HD Reptiles of intent to forfeit the animal and provide current photos and, if requested, video of the animal. The purchaser must also disclose feeding history, husbandry conditions, and any known health concerns. Return approval may be denied if the animal does not meet baseline standards or presents elevated risk.

All approved forfeitures must be shipped in strict compliance with the following requirements. Shipment must be coordinated with HD Reptiles prior to scheduling. The animal must be packed in an approved MorphMarket branded insulated shipping box and secured inside a proper snake bag. Appropriate heating or cooling packs must be included based on current and forecasted temperatures. Shipment must occur only during safe weather conditions as determined by HD Reptiles. Shipment must be sent via FedEx Priority Overnight and must be hub-to-hub, held for pickup at a FedEx Ship Center. Failure to follow any shipping requirement voids eligibility under this policy.

HD Reptiles will provide a prepaid shipping label for approved forfeitures. The purchaser retains full responsibility and liability for the animal until it is received and accepted by HD Reptiles. Improper packing, failure to follow instructions, or carrier delays void all protections under this policy. HD Reptiles is not liable for loss, delay, or mortality caused by shipping carrier actions or customer error.

All returned animals will undergo mandatory quarantine upon arrival. HD Reptiles retains full authority to isolate, treat, or medically intervene as necessary. HD Reptiles may refuse intake of animals presenting unacceptable biosecurity risk. If medically necessary to prevent suffering or protect the collection, HD Reptiles reserves the right to humanely euthanize the animal. The purchaser waives all claims regarding post-return care decisions.

Upon receipt and acceptance of the animal by HD Reptiles, full ownership transfers immediately and irrevocably to HD Reptiles. The original purchaser relinquishes all rights, claims, and interests in the animal. No compensation, refund, credit, or exchange will be provided.

HD Reptiles reserves the right to refuse or revoke acceptance of any return if health or condition standards are not met, shipping requirements are not followed, the animal presents disease or parasite risk, or the return was not pre-approved. If a return is refused, the purchaser remains fully responsible for the animal and all associated costs.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, HD Reptiles shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising from this policy. Total liability, if any, shall not exceed the original purchase price of the animal. The purchaser assumes all risks associated with animal ownership, handling, and transport.

The purchaser agrees to indemnify and hold harmless HD Reptiles from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from improper care, handling, or shipment of the animal, violation of this policy, or any third-party claims related to the animal while in the purchaser’s possession.

This policy shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Alaska. Any disputes shall be resolved exclusively in the appropriate state or federal courts within Alaska.

If any provision of this policy is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

This policy constitutes the full agreement regarding forfeiture and return of animals and supersedes any prior representations or agreements. Completion of purchase constitutes full acceptance of these terms.
